A brief history

Aeroflot, the company, was founded in 1923 and is the flag carrier of Russia. Aeroflot operates services to over 146 destinations in 52 countries, with its hub at Sheremetyevo International Airport in Moscow. Incidentally, Aeroflot has been growing and modernising ever since then and today is famous for its comfort and safety in servicing clients. Aeroflot is part of the SkyTeam global airline alliance, which gives travellers worldwide access to an extended network of destinations and services.

Skytrax gave Aeroflot a 4-star rating, and in 2016, it won the “Best Airline in Eastern Europe” award. Other major honors include “Airline of the Year – Passenger’s Choice” and “Best Russian Airline.”Today, it offers reliable and comfortable air travel across the globe. 

The airline operates under the code SU, so you may also hear it called the SU airline.
